Alison Bingham AVA (Allocate VA & Team) – Case Study: Group Coaching: From clarity to Generating Clients Summer 2025

Alison Bingham is a local entrepreneur and specialises in virtual assistant services for her customers delivered by herself or team.

Alison joined our group coaching program ‘From Clarity to Generating Clients’ along with five other business owners, over a period of 3 x ½ Day Sessions.

Implementing our framework to help her business generate a plan forward to support the next stage of growth for her business as grew from ‘I to We’!

Here is an account of Alison’s experience; following the program ending in Q3 of 2025.

 

What was the scenario before you started working together with Ask Zoe?

Before working with Ask Zoe, it was just me running the business. I was getting close to being fully booked but still receiving enquiries, so I knew I needed to shift my marketing from ‘I’ to ‘we’ and bring in associates to support more clients. My socials and website needed updating, and my old marketing didn’t quit fit, and I realised I needed support to make the change. Over time I’ve been building a business persona called AVA, and I know how to market to her, but marketing to her as a we meant I needed clarity on how to do it most effectively. Working with Zoe made me see that it’s more than just swapping ‘I’ for ‘we’.

 

What were their goals (from the customer’s perspective)?

From the customer’s perspective, my goals were to clearly show that I now work with associates — so clients get tailored support and access to a wider variety of VAs, each with different skills and experience.

It’s shifted from “I’m here to help you free up time in your business” to “We offer flexible support for your small business by teaming you up with the right associate.” I also needed clarity on my vision for the business and how best to market it going forward.

 

Why did you choose to work with Ask Zoe?

I chose to work with Ask Zoe because of the relationship and trust we’d built through our local Barnsley and Rotherham Business Link network. After hearing Zoe’s presentation on messaging and market research, I knew she had the expertise I needed and was the right person to support me with this stage of my business.

This led to receiving a downloadable gift from Zoe to support my business with follow-up tasks. During a 1:1 session, I could see that her reputation really precedes her, and I knew I wanted to work with Ask

Zoe to dive deeper into understanding what I was changing, how it could be improved, and what, if anything, was missing.

We all market our businesses, but sometimes we don’t notice what’s missing until someone else points it out. Zoe helped me identify those gaps and gave me the clarity I needed.

What was the process and how have you benefited since working with Ask Zoe? Since working with Ask Zoe, I’ve gained confidence in my business direction, a clearer marketing strategy, and a refreshed approach to presenting my services. I now understand how to communicate that I work with associates, offer tailored support, and provide a wider variety of VA skills to clients. Overall, the process has helped me feel more organised, focused, and ready to grow my business.
