Clare is the Owner and Director of Make A Brew a brand agency based in Sheffield and she is your go-to brand expert, published author, and creative marketing director.

Make A Brew has been a client of Ask Zoe since March 2020 (under the brand of Fab Events & Marketing Strategy) and it has been a pleasure to see their business flourish in recent years and have a client that transitions with our own journey as is still a part of the Ask Zoe family and brand. Services included:

  • 1:1 strategy session in March 2020 regarding online events and workshops. Followed by an ad hoc 1:1 session in reference to accountability to reach targets set.
  • 1:1 strategy session based around new products and services for the brand boom sessions to lead into further work for rebrand customers or creative marketing director roles in Autumn 2021.
  • Completed by a Market Research project in December 2022 for research on consultancy models for future growth in 2023 and beyond.

The following case study shares Clare’s own words on this customer journey and partnership created in March 2020.

What was the scenario before you started working together with Ask Zoe?

Originally required services based on transitioning events from face-to-face to an online setting, knew this would not be ideal as we went into the first lockdown when we conducted the first strategy session. But you were able to tailor this strategy to place my events into an online training option and the reason I chose your services was because of your event and marketing experience in the local community and just from this first conversation I knew I didn’t have the knowledge that you could provide, so I purchased your 1:1 offer to help me pave a way through.

This was a fantastic offer as you were able to help me adapt to the current circumstances i.e., Covid19, as this unfolded and helped me realize after the session I could break this online offer down into smaller bite-sized chunks to generate more interest for my sales funnel and be more affordable for my target audience due to the current circumstances we were all facing in business,

This scenario has since changed since the world opened up, hence why we have been able to take more services due to the trust and partnership you have created in our work together and from your clients. As you still create clarity, focus, and accountability in your offer, even though it may have started as events it now most definitely is 1:1 consultancy and market research that you support me and my business with.

As you have become a supporter, confidant and you can tell you want me to succeed.

What were their goals (from the customer’s perspective)?

Originally the goals as mentioned above have changed over the past three years, at first it was t launch workshops as an offer in our business model, which developed into an online format, and want to sell 8-10 spaces for this, which I was successful in doing.

Followed by my goals for accountability were simply to be made accountable for the results I was trying to create as my business developed during the pandemic, so the second strategy aim was to create further products and services within my business model to offer sustainability and create more income.

Concluded by my current goals as a business following the market research is to ensure I have a scalable business and I understand the return on investment and the value I provide to my customers to ensure this aligns with what I wish to create as a business and a work-life balance.

Why did you choose to work with Ask Zoe?

The reasons we choose to work with Ask Zoe in addition to the comments made already were the reputation and experience Ask Zoe has in the local business community in the first instance in March 2020. Now we choose to work with Zoe because we know we will receive the desired results and ultimately, we receive her support during service delivery but after the project, because she champions our business, and we now dovetail our services as we trust each other and have a good foundation set for years to come. As I know she wants me to succeed just as much as she wants my clients to succeed which makes a good work relationship.

What was the process and how have you benefited since working with Zoe on a 1:1 level?

The process has been very easy, and you explain things, so they are easy to digest and understand. Plus, you make sure goals are in place so the desired ROI I am trying to attract is met through your services and that has been evident since working with you in March 2020 to now in December 2022 and I know this is what I will receive going forward at each point we work together in the future.

Plus, in marketing there is a say that it is all in the follow up and that is what you provide after any service, you always follow up to ensure I have all my questions answered and to keep me accountable in what I am trying to create because of our work together.

What results have you seen so far?

Return on investment since starting to work with Zoe, is likely to be above 300% as we have gain the right return per service; so I have always found the solution to the problem or been able to offer my clients the correct offer to gain more attraction, this has ultimately allowed my business to grow.

So, I am now excited to see what the market research project will provide and help me scale up my business in 2023 and beyond.
