The reason being is they seem not to have a clear plan or agenda of what they would like their business and marketing strategy to produce. Whether this be extra profits for the business, more exposure, growth in the team or so much more.
The best strategies that work tend to have a clear agenda of what they are trying to achieve, whether this be for the business, within your marketing or even for your events. Plus, the best strategies for your business that work tend to have your customer or audience in mind, as this is who you are trying to attract and build a relationships with, which is key for an successful outcome.
As stated via recent article through ASANA: ‘To ensure your strategies serve your business objectives and goals, make sure they take into account your audience i.e. ‘Who are you targeting with this strategy?’ The more specific you can get, the better. Your audience should align with the group your business is targeting (prospects, current customers, etc.).
Further benefits of a successful strategy are:
- Increase of Visibility
- Boost Brand Awareness
- Attract Clients
- Retain Existing Customers
- Give Back
So, how can you make your business and marketing strategy work for you? By, following these five key areas:
- Purpose – Your purpose is your why and will help get your message clear to your perspective audience and attract the best audience type for your business. As the more you are in tune with your why the more you will attract in reference to your ideal target customers.
- Research – Know what your current market position is so you know your key strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats. This allows you to become more aware of your internal and external impacts that do or can effect the business.
- Vision – Have the end in sight and ask yourself what is it that I want my business and marketing to give me in return. As, if we don’t have a clear vision in mind, how would be know when we achieve this target.
- Action – Take action with your intentions set; as without action a goal is just a wish. This is where it transfers from marketing strategy to implementation.
- Audience – Know who you wish to work with; as working with the right clients will not only improve your business in terms of growth but also in reference to enjoyment; as you are working with an audience that value you.
How you can work more on these five key areas is by blocking time out in the diary each month to ensure you are not just working in the business but on the business. This will ensure your business and marketing strategy work for you rather than against.
