In these uncertain times it is now more than ever, so important to plan ahead. Whether this be in business or within your marketing or event calendar for internal and external events.
The UK Events industry is worth a collective £31.9 billion pounds, according to the Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP). So, it is understandable how much the Covid-19 outbreak has devastated this industry alone due to the restrictions now in place for public safety.
However, what this does present is an area of opportunity for those businesses in the events industry, to plan ahead and become innovative during these times, by creating a new norm for the months ahead.
As during times of adversity we should use this time wisely as many before us have, for example if you look back in history from the 1600’s it was during the pandemic of the Great Plague of London, Isaac Newton started to create inventions through gravity. Even now in present date we are paving the way to design and produce new ventilators and virus-killing snoods.
My point being, that if we don’t innovate and adapt to the new way of life; we will stand still and just by moving forward and using this time to plan ahead; we will generate more income for our economy and make our businesses stronger by overcoming adversity.
For example, within our business as of April 2020 we are helping customers bring their events online and have created a virtual community and service to their business by doing so. As due to the innovators before us, we now have the capacity to do this and bring our customers and business online.
In reference to your own business, think of the areas that can become virtual and by following government guidelines; you will see you can bring your services, events and business online to create a better future.
So, I will close this article on one of our favourite quotes and I hope you choose this time wisely to create a better future for your events and business endeavours.
‘A goal without a plan is just a wish – Antonie de Saint-Exupery’.
